Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 25, 2026  |  Last Updated: April 25, 2026

BillRam ("the App") is developed and maintained by Altibix Codelab Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Key Principle: BillRam is an offline-first application. All your business data (products, invoices, customer records, shop profile) is stored locally on your device using an embedded database. We do not collect, transmit, or store your business data on any remote server.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

BillRam does not collect, store, or share any of the following:

2. Device Permissions & Why They Are Needed

The App requests certain device permissions solely to enable its core features. Each permission, its purpose, and the corresponding feature are listed below:

Permission Feature Why It Is Needed
Camera Barcode & QR Code Scanner Used to scan product barcodes and QR codes for quick billing, inventory lookup, and bulk product scanning. The camera feed is processed on-device only and is never recorded or transmitted.
Internet App Updates & Fonts Used to check for new app versions on Google Play Store and to download display fonts (Google Fonts) on first use. No business data is transmitted over the network.
Bluetooth Thermal Receipt Printer Used to discover and connect to Bluetooth thermal printers so you can print invoices and receipts directly from the App.
Storage / Files Backup, PDF & Excel Export Used to save generated PDF invoices, Excel/CSV inventory reports, and database backups to your device's storage. On Android 11+, the App uses scoped storage or the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission to write files to the Downloads folder.
Notifications Low-Stock Alerts & Reminders Used to send you local on-device notifications such as low-stock product alerts and scheduled reminders. Notifications are generated entirely on-device; no push notification service is used.
Vibrate Notification Alerts Used to provide haptic feedback when a local notification is delivered.
Boot Completed Background Stock Checks Used to restart periodic background tasks (via WorkManager) after device reboot so that scheduled low-stock checks and reminders continue to work without requiring you to reopen the App.
Photo / Image Picker Shop Logo & Product Images Used to let you pick an image from your gallery to set as your shop logo or product image. Selected images are compressed and stored locally within the App's private storage.

3. Data Storage

All data created within BillRam, including:

is stored locally on your device using the Isar embedded database and shared preferences. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it (e.g., generating a PDF or Excel file and sharing it yourself).

4. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any of your data with third parties. Since the App does not collect data remotely, there is no data to share.

When you export an invoice as a PDF or an inventory report as an Excel/CSV file, the file is saved to your device. Any subsequent sharing of that file (e.g., via WhatsApp, email) is initiated and controlled entirely by you through your device's share functionality.

5. Third-Party Services

BillRam uses the following third-party services with minimal data exchange:

The App does not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or social media trackers.

6. Children's Privacy

BillRam is a business tool designed for shopkeepers and business owners. It is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

7. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your device's security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend:

8. Your Rights & Data Control

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
